Student Wellness at 含羞草影院 Community College understands that your well-being can be improved by having access to physical and mental healthcare resources as well as knowledge of organizations at 含羞草影院 and in the community. This page includes information about local and national resources that can support your holistic health needs.

We want you to know that if you feel stressed, anxious, sad, or hopeless, you are not alone. These feelings may be a normal part of the college experience, but they may also be something that involves help to overcome.

Whether you are searching for tips to improve your emotional or physical health, worried about a potential mental or physical health problem, looking to help a friend, or interested in becoming an advocate, a great first step is to review these resources for college students.

No one has to go it alone. Student Wellness is available to help you navigate the process of choosing care and support and to provide direct counseling and referrals to meet your needs.

Mental Health and Wellness


  • Mental health is a key part of your overall health. Brief screenings are the quickest way to determine if you or someone you care about should connect with a mental health professional - they are a checkup from your neck up. This program is completely anonymous and confidential, and immediately following the brief questionnaire you will see your results, recommendations, and key resources.

  • Press Pause is a digital self-care and coping experience created by The Jed Foundation and powered by PINK that helps us take a moment when we鈥檙e feeling overwhelmed to find a calmer state and recharge before we react or decide what to do next. Integrating these healthier and evidence-based ways of dealing with stress and anxiety into our daily lives improves our mental health and prevents us from reacting in ways that can cause more problems. The Press Pause hub provides tips, tools and videos to walk through strategies to Press Pause in 8 categories: , , , , , , , and .

  • The Steve Fund is the nation鈥檚 only organization focused on supporting the mental health and emotional well-being of young people of color. The Steve Fund works with colleges and universities, non-profits, researchers, mental health experts, families, and young people to promote programs and strategies that build understanding and assistance for the mental and emotional health of the nation鈥檚 young people of color. The Fund holds an annual conference series, Young, Gifted & @Risk, and offers a Knowledge Center with curated expert information. With multicultural mental health experts, it delivers on-campus and on-site programs and services for colleges and non-profits, and through tech partnerships it provides direct services to young people of color.

  • Learn how to bring mental health awareness to your campus and find links to mental health resources for students and families.

  • The Jed Foundation and mtvU partner to provide mental health resources that initiate a public dialogue to raise awareness about the prevalence of mental health issues and to connect students to the appropriate resources to get help. Some of the information is focused on normalizing feelings and providing facts about mental health issues, identifying the problem and offering 鈥渉ow to feel better鈥 information, helping a friend, getting involved. Recognizable athletes, musicians, actors/actresses talk about their own mental health issues.

  • Safe Zone trainings are one of the best places to start learning about all things LGBTQ+, but they are just that: the start.

  • Find information about various mental health issues/disorders, tips for overall wellness, how to help a friend with mental illness, and links to immediate help. Hotlines and resources provided for suicide prevention, dating abuse, LGBTQ support, Veterans, and treatment referrals.

Suicide Prevention


  • Promoting emotional health and preventing suicide. Resources for students, parents, and college professionals.

  • Crisis intervention and suicide prevention for LGBTQ ages 13-24. Training and education available for adolescents and adults.

  • Learn how to recognize warning signs and get help for you or a friend. Call for help at 1.800.273.TALK (8255) or 988.

  • Samaritans works to prevent suicide and support those who have lost someone to suicide. Each year, 300+ volunteers answer more than 75,000 calls and text messages on their Helpline.

Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence


  • The Massachusetts Coalition against Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence. Resources provided for victims and survivors of sexual violence, domestic violence and stalking, for LGBTQ, immigrants, teens, elders, people with disabilities, batterers and sex offenders, and children exposed to battering.

  • Find information about healthy vs. unhealthy relationships and dating abuse among young people.

  • Get Help Without Saying a Word.
  • New Hope works throughout South-Central and Southeastern Massachusetts with those affected by domestic and sexual violence.

  • Prevention of sexual abuse and domestic violence. Provides podcasts, viewable conferences, and e-learning opportunities.

  • Location and contact information for Rape Crisis Centers across Massachusetts.

  • The Women鈥檚 Center provides advocacy, counseling, and crisis-intervention for survivors of domestic and sexual abuse. We collaborate within the community to provide comprehensive supports for individuals and families. We improve community response and understanding of interpersonal violence by offering training, consultation, and education.

  •  The mission of the Department of Veterans鈥 Services is to advocate on behalf of all the Commonwealth鈥檚 veterans and provide them with quality support services and to direct an emergency financial assistance program for those veterans and their dependents who are in need.
